Website Updates

Friday, February 29th, 2008

I’ve got a bit of stuff going on with my other websites right now:

  1. Portfolio » keirahenricks.com
I made a better layout for my portfolio, with just a Flash header (the full site was in Flash before). I still haven’t finished my portfolio though. I think now that the layout is more appealing, I will be more likely to finish it. My old layout was just not that appealing to me, which I believe to be a major factor in why I was having such a hard completing it.
  2. Fading Flowers Web Hosting » hosting.fading-flowers.com
Did a slightly newer version of the original layout. It used to be full page with but it now has a fixed width. I also made a Flash header. I’m not as pleased with it as I am with the one for my portfolio but it’s a little more appealing, but it works.
  3. Residual – Jake Epstein Fansite » jakeepstein.net
I am planning to open my Jake Epstein Fansite tomorrow, possibly tonight. I finally got it ready to be opened, after a couple months of not having time to do anything with it.

I think that’s all the major stuff that’s happening right now. I still need to get around to redoing some of my fanlistings because the layouts on some are quite old. Most from back when they were on my old domain, over a year ago. So I would say it’s definitely time for a change for them.

I was also having issues logging into my blog the last few days, but I’ve fixed it now, obviously. But yeah. I guess that’s all.

Night Drive
The All American Rejects

I know you
so better than the city in the rear view
I drive to
eliminate the ball that I’m chained to

Take me break me
every mile further there’s a part of me that slips away
One day you’ll see
Even if you got down on your knees you couldn’t make me stay

Drive all night
Never gonna get me
Night by night
To get away from it all
Fight fight fight
All you wanna do is hurt me
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night

I’ll stay strong
I’m pushing on the pedal till I break dawn
So I’m gone, go find another shoulder you can cry on

Take me break me
every mile further there’s a part of me that slips away
One day you’ll see
Even if you got down on your knees you couldn’t make me stay

Drive all night
Never gonna get me
Night by night
To get away from it all
Fight fight fight
All you wanna do is hurt me
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night

All of the things that you knew that I’d try
All of the things that I held inside
All I gotta do is drive

Drive all night
Never gonna get me
Night by night
To get away from it all
Fight fight fight
All you wanna do is hurt me
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
You wrecked my life
So I’m gonna have to drive all night
you wrecked my life
so I’m gonna have to drive all night

OS X Update

Monday, February 11th, 2008

I’m so excited! I just got my first Mac OS X Software Update!! When I purchased my iMac it has OS X 10.5.1 on it. I’m now in the process of downloading the update for 10.5.2. Ok, for you non-computer people that’s not all that exciting to you but for people like me who love computers the way I do, you’ll understand.

I also had fun on the weekend doing stuff on Cara’s MacBook. She got her brother’s MacBook a few weeks ago and she wanted to get some word processing software. I recommended iWork’08, rather than Microsoft Office Mac mostly because I like it better (I have both). It’s also cheaper. The only type of application it doesn’t come with is email software, but Mac’s have that MacMail software anyway. But Cara doesn’t need that anyway. iWork also has better templates for resumes, letters, envelopes, etc. than Office does.

Anyways, I’m not trying to promote any software here, but if you are considering… lol. Just kidding. I won’t. That’s not the point of this post.

I hadn’t realized what version of the OS X software was required for iWork ‘08, although I did remember the version that Cara had: 10.4.8. iWork needs 10.4.10 or higher. Luckily, there was an update available for her which brought her up to 10.4.11. So after hours of downloading updates (I’m pretty sure Stephen rarely updated that thing while he had it because there were a LOT of updates) I was finally able to install iWork for Cara.

But yeah, it was exciting, even though I didn’t really get to do much, other than watch it download for 5 hours. I get excited by those kinds of things.

Anywho, I’m going to go. I have some stuff I forgot to buy yesterday so I’m going to go do that now, while my OS X update is downloading.

Fire Rabbit vs Earth Dragon

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Today is the start of the year of the Yang Earth Rat! Lol. Yeah, the animal is a “Rat” and the Element is “Yang Earth”. But calling it “Yang Earth Rat” is more fun.

Don’t even ask me why I started thinking about this. Ok, actually, it was because Regis and Kelly said something about it being the year of the rat. That reminded me that for the longest time I’ve wanted to check what my animal is. I’ve always thought that it was a dragon because that’s what 1988 is, but I knew that the dates are offset from our’s. So I finally checked it.

It turns out that I actually have to go by 1987 because the year of the dragon didn’t start until February 17th 1988 and I was born on January 30th 1988. But here’s the best part: I’m a Yin Fire Rabbit. LMAO!! So, obviously, my element is “Yin Fire”. I can call myself a “Fire Rabbit”! I kind of like that because it sounds funny, better than a “Yang Earth Dragon” which I would be if I had been born on my due date!! Haha. I was supposed to be born on February 29th. Yes, the 29th. That would have sucked! But instead, I was born a month early. I’m ok with that lol.

Now, if it was a “Fire Dragon,” then that would have been just lame.

I would have liked being a dragon though. Dragons are cooler than Rabbits. Although, I have wanted to get a pet rabbit for quite a while now lol. A cute fluffy one with floppy ears. :) lol.

I think I now have an idea for another tattoo. Although, I can’t afford it, and I don’t know where I would get it either. I did see a butterfly that I really liked at the place in GP where Amber and I went. I should have taken a picture of it so I had it lol. I don’t remember exactly what it looked like but I really liked it and I would have gotten it on my wrist because it was small. I had been thinking of getting a dragon, but I didn’t because I didn’t know for sure that I was a dragon. So now I’m thinking I should get fire. I like fire! lol. I wouldn’t get a tattoo of a rabbit. If I was really weird I would get a flaming rabbit but I don’t think I could live with that lol. But I could always get Chinese symbols for fire and rabbit. I wish I had thought of that before I got my other Chinese symbols because I might have gotten that instead. But that’s ok. I won’t be getting anymore any time soon. I can’t afford it. Although I probably do still have some birthday/Christmas money left, so I could do it, but I don’t want it bad enough right now.

My dad is a Yang Earth Dog and my mom is a Yin Metal Ox. LOL!!

Anyways, that’s the end of my randomness for today. Here’s where I got this information from:
