The Website
Dreams and Destiny Collide is Keira's personal website. The site includes a personal weblog, information, an image gallery, and fanlisting collective.
The Layout
Dreams and Destiny Collide Version 2.0 - Sultry

The header, footer, and background images were scanned from two pieces of scrapbook paper I purchased from Michaels Arts & Crafts. Both scrapbook pages were from BasicGrey's Pattern Paper "Sultry" collection. The header and footer images are from a a page titled posh and the background image was scanned from a page titled fashionable.

The Blog
The blog is currently running on WordPress, but I chose not to use WP for the entire site. I created a WP theme that will never have to be edited (except maybe small formatting things) or changed when I want to redo the layout of the site. Here are some of my reasons for choosing not to use WordPress for the entire site:
- I wanted to have my fanlisting collective as part of the site, rather than its own separate site, and Enthusiast not esily compatible with WP, as far as I know. I have heard that it is possible though.
- Redoing a layout for a website is much easier to do with manuel HMTL/PHP coding (in my opinion anyway) than having to make a whole WP theme. I mean once you have a WP theme that works for you, you can usually get away with only editing the stylesheet, as with regular HTML/PHP, but I find there to be too many things you need to know for WP that are separate from HTML or PHP.
- I have run full websites on WordPress, and I like that it is easy to update your content but depending on how you design your WP theme and if you decide to add links to your navigation (depending again on your layout) it can be more difficlut.
- Basically, I just wanted this site to be as simple as posible, but I wanted to use a solid blogging script for my blog and honeslty, I've never found one that I like more than WordPess. I just wish there was something that was as good at WP but functioned as a PHP include blog like FanUpdate (which I use for my fanlistings) and CuteNews.
